The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many South Africans. To obtain critical weather information, the SAWDOS use voluntary weather observers. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe and informed by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the SAWDOS for publication on the Blog. The SAWDOS is a non-profit organization that renders a FREE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE.

Subject: Heavy Falls; Gale Force winds and Very rough seas
Detail: 1.Heavy falls of rain are expected in the Overberg, southern parts of the Cape Winelands and western parts of the Eden District on Friday, spreading into the eastern parts Eden District on Saturday. 2.Gale force south-easterly winds(35kts/65 Km/h) are expected in the off-shore areas between Lamberts Bay and Cape Columbine on Friday. 3.Very rough seas with wave heights between 4-6m are expected to develop between Table Bay and Cape Agulhas on Friday, spreading to the Alexander Bay and Plettenberg Bay Later.
