Vier mense het verdrink toe hulle deur sterk vloedwater in die oorvol Limpoporivier naby die Beitbrug-grenspos meegesleur is. Nooddienspersoneel sĂȘ die mense het aan bome vasgeklou, maar die vloedwater was te sterk. 'n Aantal boere en plaaswerkers is ook langs die rivier vasgekeer en is deur helikopters van die Suid-Afrikaanse Nasionale Weermag gered. Intussen is vier grensposte in Limpopo weens vloedwater gesluit. Dit is Pontdrift, Zanzibar, Platjan op die grens met Botswana en Pafuri in die noorde van die Nasionale Krugerwildtuin. Die situasie by die besige Beitbruggrenspos sal dopgehou word om te kyk of dit ook gesluit moet word.
