Two rescued from flooded KZN river
Johannesburg - Two men were rescued from the flooding Umzimkhulu River, near Port Shepstone, on Sunday, paramedics said.
"Reports indicate that the men crossed the river this morning to fish from an island, with the severe inland rain the river flooded trapping the men on the island," Netcare911 spokesperson Chris Botha said.
Two police rescue swimmers crossed the river using ropes to reach the stranded men.
"Rescue members, paramedics, and bystanders pulled the men back to safety..."
The men were not injured.
