On Thursday, 17 January 2013 at approximately 10h30, a South African Air Force CASA 212 aircraft was involved in a hard landing incident while coming in to land at the Tempe Airfield in Bloemfontein. There were 5 crew members on board the aircraft. An Emergency Medical Team was despatched to the scene and no injuries were reported.
The aircraft was participating in a scheduled para-trooping exercise. A preliminary investigation has since been established to investigate the cause of the incident.
