Search called off for missing man in Strand

Cape Town Disaster Risk Management on Tuesday said it called off a search for a man who drowned in Strand.

The 32-year-old man disappeared while swimming on Monday.

Disaster Risk Management’s Wilfred Solomons-Johannes said rough seas led to the search being called off.

“They have stopped the search mission due to rough seas. Law enforcement will patrol the beach on foot to see whether the body has been washed ashore,” he said.
