A 16 year old female teenager and a 17 year old male teenager sustained various injuries following a serious quad bike collision earlier this afternoon.
The cause of the collision is unknown, but the two teenagers who were both on the quad bike at the time had allegedly lost control of the vehicle while riding on a gravel road in Eerstegoud.
The quad bike then veered from the road before colliding with a roadside pole at speed. Both occupants were flung from the bike. The female sustained various broken bones as well as suspected back and neck injuries. The male occupant sustained various scrapes and bruises only.
Both patients received treatment at the scene before being transported to a nearby medical facility.
